In March, a group of representatives from ED&F MAN and Grupo CASSA participated in a field visit in the reforested area Vista Hermosa, located in the Municipality of Sonsonate, Department of Sonsonate, El Salvador. This activity presented the progress achieved at the community and institutional levels in the reforestation of degraded areas, with the purpose of rehabilitating green areas of the Vista Hermosa community and the School Centre of this same community.
During the visit, attendees received a detailed explanation about the management of reforestation, from the preparation of the land to the maintenance conducted three years after the planting of the trees. The visit allowed participants to see firsthand the activities conducted for the maintenance of the reforested areas, with financial support from Grupo CASSA and physical support from the community residents.
Thanks to this project, approximately 10 hectares have been reforested in six communities in El Salvador, demonstrating the positive impact of collaboration between institutions and local communities.
