215 children participated in a reforestation activity organized yesterday by the Tulula Sugar Mill, and supported by the Private Institute for Climate Change Research -ICC-.
The kids that participated are students from different school years from the Labor Casa Blanca, Labor Santa Lucia, San Vicente Boxoma y La Lolita communities. Parents and representatives from the COCODES also participated in the activity.
The Coronel Guillermo Quiroa from the Fourth Brigade of the Guatemalan Army, Erick Aragon, Manager of the Tulula Sugar Mill, Rudy Alvarado, from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, Roberto Valenzuela from the Town Hall of Santa Cruz Mulua, and Alex Guerra, Director of the ICC joined the event.
More than 400 trees were planted yesterday. The activity was performed in the jurisdiction of the Samalá basin, Santa Cruz Mulua, Retalhuleu.
