Today we begin with a new process to build capacities in climate change in Nueva Concepcion, Escuintla.

The Community Adaptation to Climate Change Training started today in Trocha 8, Nueva Concepcion, Escuintla, where 23 people participated in the opening ceremony this afternoon.

Steve Avila from Madre Tierra and Lorena Marroquin from La Union Sugar Mills joined Luis Montufar and Pablo Yax from the Private Institute for Climate Change Research ICC for this session. This training is also supported by the Study Opportunities Scholarship Fund sponsored by the Association of Guatemalan Sugar Producers Asazgua.

During the training, participants will build their knowledge in three modules: climate change, disaster risk management, and integrated watershed management. Each module is complemented with a fieldtrip.
